Mr. Edward Yaw Afriyie is the Managing Director of MICRO MEDICAL CENTRE . Edward is currently the Treasurer of the Kumasi Branch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) and a Council member of the Chamber. He has also served as a member of the Finance Committee of GNCCI since 2018.
He is a Deputy Chief Biomedical Scientist with almost 2 decades of work experience in the field of medical laboratory sciences at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and the Head of  Hematology Unit.
He’s also a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Sciences (FWAPCMLS) and the Secretary to the College’s Faculty of Transfusion Science (2020 to date).
He is a member of the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) and has been a Past National Financial Secretary for the Association (2016 – 2018).
He’s currently a PhD candidate at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) reading Hematology . He holds a Commonwealth Executive Masters degree in Public Administration (2011 -2013) and an MPhil in Hematology (2018-2021) all from KNUST and a BSc degree in Medical Laboratory technology.(1999- 2003).
Edward has 8 research publications in the field of Hematology & Transfusion sciences. He has begun a 3-year non-renewable term on Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) and hopes to bring his expertise to good use for the strengthening of the work of the secretariat.
